What Are We Looking For?
A unique opportunity has arisen within our Darlington office for an experienced individual to join us on a permanent basis to continue our expansion of projects and product development across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to join one of the leading partners to the UK’s water industry, with an impressive pedigree in innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the organisation.
Some of Your Key Duties Include:
Delivery / Framework Management:
- Manage RSE’s Frameworks & Business interests in accordance with the terms of the Framework Agreements and maximise the benefit of the Frameworks to RSE.
- Manage selection, tender and work award in accordance with the process set out in the Framework Agreements while ensuring the risk of challenge is minimised.
Quality Control:
- Attend and participate in project Design Team reviews. Make regular visits to projects on site. Monitor progress, quality and general performance of the in-house site management, delivery staff, sub-contractors and consultants. Attend project handovers on site, and where applicable, provide advice on defects and lead in the resolution of latent defect issues.
- Carry out an annual review of RSE’s Delivery performance across the allocated area of business responsibility. To cover all aspects of our Design and Build capability and review performance to ensure technical standards are up to date and lessons learned from completed projects are incorporated.
- Monitor construction regulations and other statutory regulations to provide early warning of change and ensure RSE is able to respond rapidly. Arrange training to RSE staff and partners resulting from regulatory change.
- Contribute in RSE’s innovation and growth in new technology relating to the water sector & associated business interests. Administer and produce reports on outcomes with recommendations for implementation.
Financial Control:
- Ensure a consistent and appropriate commercial approach underpins all areas of responsibility within the role and that RSE obtains an optimised value proposition in Contracts / Frameworks.
- Ensure that RSE staff on projects under your direction / responsibility have an aligned commercial approach and administer the contracts across projects to optimises the value proposition.
- Drive continued improvement in our commercial performance, ensuring budget controls are in place, outputs are monitored, and any unforeseen movements are challenged and addressed to a satisfactory outcome for RSE.
General:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the RSE business and associated Group companies.
- Development of and implementation of Tender Win Strategies.
- Be capable and able to take a leading role in presentations for client meetings/interviews.
- Lead on water sector innovation & associated business interests in RSE’s development and work with our Partners/supply chain to secure cost-effective quality improvements in delivering programmes of work.
What Do You Need?
- Suitably qualified in relevant Engineering discipline including Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering.
- Demonstrable commercial awareness
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Excellent presentation skills
- Very good knowledge and experience of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Able to motivate and inspire others
- Able to identify training needs and respond accordingly to team and/or individual requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
